Our mission is to assist and equip men and women in transitioning back into society, who want to stay out of prison and effectively re-enter the community.
WHO ARE WE
My name is Majorie Underwood CEO of Kathryn Betts Foundation,
I am a ex-offender served 4 years in Federal Prison. While locked up I realize that there wasn't any support or resources that are available to help someone that is being released.
This foundation is here for that purpose to provide the resouces and support that is needed to function and stay out of the system. During my duration of my time I wanted to come home and become a productive citizen and be able to give back to our community and help others in their journey to do the same. The goal for the foundation is to open up in 2025 a Social Services building for the communities and also where ex-offenders can come and be able to get all the resources that is available.
Kathryn Betts was the mother of Majorie Underwood and Dr. Willie Underwood III the namesake of this foundation.
She always believed in helping those that were in need and made sure to give back to the community whenever possible. She worked hard for a railroad company for close to 40 years to provide for her daughter and son. As a family, the core priniciples that were instilled were education, hard work, and to never forgetting your moral compass. Those values, continue to guide the way for future generations and to serve as a firm pillar of the Kathryn Betts Foundation.
